What happens when you and your crew have to fly to rescue one of your own?
Downwash tells the story of Api, an air rescuer who had to be saved by his closest friends. With this plot we highlight the people inside the helicopters that are essential to Austrias fast mountain rescue.
my responsibilities
Downwash initially started as a small project for university. Soon enough we found out that the story we were about to tell had potential to be so much more than "just" a short documentary. It turned out to be a 40 minute documentary praised by media and shown on various film festivals including the MountainFilm Festival 2022.
As assistant director I was in charge of all the planning and financials. My main responsibility in this field included talking to sponsors and planning shoots and locations. As a second position I was in charge of Behind The Scenes footage and all climbing related scenes (as main camera).
